The Posters premiered at the Durational Event called ENDLESS LOVE
presented by Animals of Distinction @ THE STABLE
LOVE Cinema posters curated by Sonya Stefan and T. Lance featuring work by them, Mandi Morgan, Vitalyi Bulychev. Iqrar Rizvi and Guillaume Vallee. This work was revealed over six hours.
Each artist was asked to provide a tweet-length text, an inspiration image and a new version of a poster for the movie they choose to work with.
I don't like artist statements because they are ideals imploding. Somewhat aimless and unreliable because we are always changing right? Right.
I own one chair and draw at my kitchen table. My drawings take several hours so I spend a lot of time alone. And that's okay. I hope you like my illustration. It is about the disillusionment we experience when we are bound to ideals. This happens especially with our expectations in love.
Is this okay?
Screenplays and posters are artifacts of a production process.
The former begins the process, the latter finalizes it. In between
and afterwards is all capitalism.
I was born in Lahore, Pakistan and raised in Houston, Texas. In 2002 we moved to Toronto. It was here that I began regular participation in cosplay and roleplay, generating characters of hybrid invention.
My undergraduate training at UTSC in the Arts, Culture and Media program permitted me to invest heavily in rigorous material exploration specifically to do with cultural identity, gender and sexual politics.
My current work employs body extension and video portraiture to explore the acrimonious nature of identity and personal politics.
Designed, digitally, by hand, by T. Lance. This poster is meant to deconstruct the exclusionary tacit practices in the hollywood romance film genre. The artist is a filmmaker and graphic designer from Montreal.
Can you something with that ?
I am a dancer and do media stuff.
